Every finish was chosen for a house that stands empty: no timber floors, no fabric that holds damp, no mechanism that needs weekly use.
External walls are local basalt, split face, laid dry-jointed with a lime backing.
The kitchen is dark green joinery with brass cup handles, both specified to be repairable on site.
